Dr. Kelly Shearer
Dr. Shearer recently moved from CA to GA in order to be closer to her family. It has always been her dream to have a farm, where she can watch her horse in the pasture while sitting on the porch. Prior to joining DVP in October 2024, Dr. Shearer worked as a relief veterinarian in TN & GA. With both an undergraduate degree in Animal & Dairy Sciences and a Masters in Biological Sciences from Auburn University, she moved to California in 2012 to attend Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She worked at a 5 doctor practice in CA for the last 7 years. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Shearer has 4 rescued animals, 2 dogs- Tyson (English Bulldog) and Milhouse (Yellow Lab), along with two cats, Merkelson (DSH) and Skye (Ragdoll), and a horse named Jack. Prior to being retrained as Dr. Shearer’s competitive jumping horse, Jack, was a Thoroughbred race horse. Dr. Shearer & Jack competed together for many years but Jack is now simply enjoying his retirement! In her free time, Dr. Shearer enjoys horseback riding, fishing & going to the shooting range with her dad, spending time with family & friends, going to concerts, traveling, and anything pet related.
